Mr & Mrs Wilkinson-Threlfall – Why Testing our Mobility Scooters is Essential
Here at Quingo we believe it is essential that a mobility scooter should fulfil your needs. Mr & Mrs Wilkinson-Threlfall needed a fully portable mobility scooter. They had tried a few mobility scooters but our self-loading Flyte ticked all the boxes for them.
Flyte – Redefining the Portable Mobility Scooter
The ability of the Flyte to self load and unload in to their car, in under 60 seconds, was perfect for the Wilkinson-Threlfall’s needs.
Mrs Wilkinson-Threlfall suffers with arthritis, but wishes to continue to enjoy a rich and varied life. A Quingo scooter will return her independence.
Being able to drive to their chosen destination, quickly and easily unload the scooter, with no heavy lifting, and then visit places of interest or just do some shopping will re-open Wilkinson-Threlfall’s life . Then, on return to your vehicle, even if you are a bit tired from your excursion, it is a breeze to load your scooter at the touch of a button!
With a range of up to 23 miles with the 4 battery configuration, and 34 miles with the range extender, you will be going further than you ever thought possible!
The Flyte offers two generous baskets so your shopping is easy to carry on the scooter. The front basket is, in addition, mounted to the scooter frame. This means that the outstanding agility and lightness of our Tri-Wheel Steering is not affected by items placed in it.
Although the docking station will mostly remain in their car, the ability to remove it on occasion was also a requirement. This is very easily achieved and an added bonus is the docking station requires no alterations to your vehicle at all.
The Wilkinson-Threlfalls live in a house just like so many others in Britain. Designed and built when buses and trains were the main types of transport used. The car was a novelty at the time, let alone electric vehicles. Having somewhere to store and charge a mobility scooter was never thought of so, making sure this can be done safely and easily, is a really important part of our home demonstration service.
Comfort Built In
The 5 wheel design of our scooters offers far greater legroom and vastly improved posture compare to equivalent 4 wheel designs.
Davis Associates (one of the UK’s leading human factors consultancies) compared Quingo scooters against standard 4 wheeler scooters and came to the following conclusions:
When compared to 4 wheelers, Quingo’s are more adjustable in their setup allowing them to better meet the needs of the individual.
Quingo’s provide a comfortable driving posture for a greater proportion of the population.
Quingo’s facilitate a greater hip angle range than 4 wheelers without compromising the angles of the knee or ankle.

The Quingo Advantage – Stability, Agility, Comfort
Unlike traditional 3 or 4 wheel scooters, every Quingo scooter comes with the same core benefits and advantages of stability, agility, safety and comfort. We call this the 5 wheel advantage; making them probably the safest, most comfortable and agile scooters you can buy.
Only Quingo 5 Wheel Scooters can offer you the following world wide patented designs covering the Quintell™ 5 Wheel Stabilising System.
Quingo Mobility Scooter – Optimal Kerb Handling
Quintell™ Active Tri-Wheel steering offers fantastic agility and an optimal turning circle allowing you to access areas you would otherwise be unable to. It also gives superb stability so you scooter is safer and more comfortable. In addition to this Quingo scooters are the only scooters that can climb kerbs at up to a 45° angle making finding a place to mount a kerb much easier and therefore safer.
Ergonomic Design Offers Greater Comfort
Tri-Wheel Steering offers another significant advantage in that it offers up to 80% more foot space that you will find on equivalent 4 wheel scooters, giving massively increased comfort and improved circulation in your legs. All this is achieved while maintaining similar turning circles to 3 Wheel scooters but avoiding the inherent instability 3 wheeled models suffer from.
Up to 80% More Foot Space
The added comfort afforded by this extra space extra space is further enhanced by our Quintell™ Posture Control System. Adaptive footplates allow even greater precision in both the length and angle your feet are position in on your scooter. Our seats offer a wide range of adjustments for greater ergonomic position. The fully adjustable, self-levelling tiller and self-centering steering mean our scooters adapt to you for optimal comfort.
When dropping down a kerb it is common for many a mobility scooter to become stuck or beached, Quingo scooters overcome this problem with Kerbmaster™ Powered Anti-Grounding. This ingenious device doubles up as an anti-tip system. Kerbmaster™ automatically engages when the rear wheels touch the kerb and the main drive wheels are not touching the ground. At this point the drive function of Kerbmaster™ is engaged smoothly moving the scooter on to the main drive wheels once more. This effectively removes the danger associated with getting stuck on a kerb.
The Quintell™ 5 Wheel Stabilising System and forward sitting position offer superb stability. This allows you to use your scooter in safety on rougher surfaces and uneven slopes that some other scooters just cannot manage.
Free Delivery and Custom Setup
In order to take full advantage of our ergonomic enhancements, full bespoke setup of your scooter is part of the superlative service we offer you when you purchase or one of our scooters.
